Jonathan O. Yorks
Managing Shareholder Jonathan Yorks joined our team in 1991. Prior to coming to Walter & Shuffain, he spent three years working in the auditing and tax departments at Price Waterhouse Coopers. Jonathan began his tenure with us working on financial and tax engagement statements. In 1994 he became our director of accounting and auditing and went on to join Walter & Shuffain’s executive committee in 2009. In May of 2013 Jonathan became a managing shareholder.
Jonathan provides Walter & Shuffain’s larger clients with consulting services in tax and estate planning. He also specializes in general business consulting services. Jonathan brings a wide breadth of accounting and tax experience to the firm. By having focused on a variety of industries throughout his career – everything from construction and real estate to the high tech field, life sciences and wholesale distribution, private equity and manufacturing industries – Jonathan is able to provide our clients with a wide-ranging, high level of expertise. Throughout his many years at Walter & Shuffain, he’s distinguished himself as an innovative problem solver and fierce advocate for our clients’ best interests.
Jonathan attended UMass Amherst’s Isenberg School of Management, graduating cum laude in 1983, and is a founding member of the University of Massachusetts Club of Boston. It was at UMass that he met his wife, Susan. Together the couple have two grown children, Jessica and Jordan, who both live and work in Boston.
In his free time, Jonathan likes to hit the links, often playing a round of golf at Kernwood Country Club where he is a member of the Board of Governors. He and Susan also enjoy boating and spending time out on the water near their home in Marblehead.
Jonathan is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountant.
